Dear Jamie,

I just assumed that since it's 9AM in the morning, everyone's probably still walking around in a coma, nursing their hangovers and trying to reconstruct last night's events. (Ooops! There I go "projecting" again.) At any rate, people need to be woken up, and coffee doesn't always do the trick.

I imagine the typical reader is sitting at her desk at Conde Nast wondering if it's too early in the morning for a coke binge. She wants to read her morning Gawker, so she types in the URL and"AAAIEEE!! What THE FUCK is that?! Make it go awaaaaay..."

You get the idea. And those photos are just too good not to be used.
