Stalk For Democracy: Brat Packers And Indie Auteurs
New York's polling places have been like Bungalow 8, but more egalitarian! The reports:
· I saw Molly Ringwald in some kind of Burberry hat voting this morning at the NYU dorm on 11th and 3rd. She got into a cab with a cute boy afterwards. She was my absolute idol in the 80's and it was all I could do to not make a complete ass out of myself by randomly quoting John Hughes movies (e.g. "What about prom, Blaine?"). Luckily there are important issues to focus on today and I was able to control myself.
· The little tiny woman who was stuck inside big Janeane Garofalo all those years was voting in the 79th district line at Greenwich Village's PS 41 this morning. Really, she's half the woman she used to be, and looks much better now that she gave up trying to be a blonde.
· Annie Liebovitz, accompanied by nanny and adorable little daughter, 26th district (polling place is at Ninth & 28th). Annie needs to comb her hair.
· At my polling place this morning, Frances McDormand and Joel Coen. They came to my spot in line and asked if it was the right line for their district. It wasn't, but I pointed them to the right line. I helped indie film royalty to vote!
