Deadwood Season Two: Here Come the F-Bombs
The gleefully profane Deadwood began its second season on HBO last night, and the West Virginia Surf Report blog once again has tallied the litany of f-bombs and "c-suckers" that artfully dance off the salty tongues of Al Swearengen and company. Really, you hardly notice it after the 36th "fuck":
Total fucks in Episode Thirteen: 66 Fucks per minute (FPM)*: 1.35
Total cocksuckers in Episode Thirteen: 8
Ratio of fucks to cocksuckers: 8.25 : 1
Good news: The Fucks Per Minute are up from the first season! But before we declare that the show's beaten the sophomore slump, the writers will have to prove that they haven't gotten lazy in their "cocksucker" deployment and lower that lagging ratio next week. And would it kill them to sneak in a couple of "squareheads," just for old times' sake?
