We weren't going to say anything about the Observer's new website. (We felt like we'd already had our fun with it.)

We weren't going to point out that we miss the old mottled-pink background and the simple, mid-'90s design that nicely complemented the print paper's classic, neoretro look. We didn't plan to complain that the new navigation bar, like the old navigation bar, requires levels of mouseover-then-point-then-click dexterity we can muster only on very rare occasions. It seemed churlish to point out that the new site continues to occasionally assign the wrong bylines to wrong articles. And we accepted that few others are as troubled as we are by the totally irrational naming convention, which ensures that links to current stories soon become unusable, and which didn't change with the new site.

But we're nearly positive that this photo is not, as its caption suggests, of fashion designer Behnaz Sarafour. And so it is only on her behalf — certainly not our own — that we inform our Observer friends, kindly, gently, and with the utmost respect, that their new site kinda blows.

As Goes DeNiro... It's Nobu North [NYO]
