Today's Newsday has the first of a two-part series on federal anti-terrorism efforts' impact on New York:

Since the Sept. 11 attacks, federal officials have stepped up their domestic investigation and security efforts in the hopes of preventing another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. The increased scrutiny has resulted in a 55 percent jump in deportation from New York City in one year alone.

"Deportation?" Is that what they're calling it these days? We can already see how the local real estate sections will respond: Not being able to afford their 5th-floor Manhattan walk-up, Dick and Jane were deported to Hoboken.
