50 Cent's G-Unit Spends Quality Time in Central Booking
Poor 50 Cent. After the rapper's show last night at Madison Square Garden (which capped off a fun-filled day of book signing), members of his posse, G-Unit, were pulled over at 41st Street and Eighth Avenue for running a red light. Sticking true to the stereotypes, the cops found more than traffic violations:
Police said one of the 12 men was carrying a loaded handgun and another weapon was found on the floor of the van. All of the occupants were charged with gun possession.
G-Unit rappers Lloyd Banks and Young Buck were released without bail, but we're nonethless outraged. Clearly, these young men were packing heat to protect 50's bling from any sticky-fingered hos who might try to rob the fellow. Really, it's no different than Jeweler Harry Winston sending security to follow around bejeweled starlets at awards shows. Shame on you, NYPD, for assuming these upstanding young men were up to no good.
