Oh it's a good day to be alive and young and in living in New York City. The heat broke, it's temporarily not raining, and the terror-alert level for the area's mass-transit systems has been dropped from orange to yellow. Or maybe from yellow to orange. Whichever's better.

This will, of course, make absolutely no difference in your life — the NYPD's random and useless subway bag searches will continue — but, still, the Department of Homeland Security people say it's a big deal.

So: Yellow. Woo-hoo.
