Saturday, 9/17 late afternoon saw Beyonce shopping at ABC on 19th and Broadway. She wanted a "brown chair in the window" and even climbed into the display to show the sales person, whom she was very nice to, which item she wanted. She wore a flashy red dress and kept her sunglasses on the entire time. What initially caught my eye was her long, perfect, obviously fake hair. She looked shockingly good, like a Barbie doll, and not at all fat like she has been looking on TV. And no entourage, just an assistant-type.

Scandinavian wood-elves on-stage at the Swedish psych-rock band Dungen's gig last night at Maxwell's in Hoboken, hairy-footed hobbits in the audience...caught Elijah Wood rocking out during such hits as "Ta det lugnt" and "Gjort bort sig". Dude's got taste...

7/14 in SoHo I bumped straight into Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst strolling down Prince Street. Thought they had broken up. She is very little in person and not cute! Jake on the other hand was much taller and cuter than he appears in pictures...Though it was completely gray outside they both had star sized big sunglasses on...

Saw Scarlett Johansson in SoHo the other day she was a lot prettier in real life and slimmer to! She was walking with her head down to the ground and looked like she didn't want to be bothered. No one else seemed at all impressed though, apart from my boyfriend whose chin I had to pick up of the floor.

Sat. 9/17, about 1:30 pm — Chloe Sevigny in tight black shorts, crossing 2nd ave at 10th St. with her skeevy-wonder boyfriend, headed towards the annual block party/sidewalk sale. My friend later bought a pair of shoes that Chloe had reportedly tried on at the 3rd ave end of the block. Same street fair, Molly Ringwald, very down to earth and her hair tied back with a blue bandanna, was selling outfits and other assorted stuff all afternoon at her very own booth.

I was having a Starbucks with some co-workers outside of my office today (9/16) in Chelsea and saw Nick Stahl of Terminator Rise of the Machine/HBO Carnivale/Sin City. The only reason I noticed him was because he had a cute puppy in his arms. He was coming out of a car with what could have either been his A. GF or B. assistant. My co-worker was leaning towards assistant cuz Nick went inside and the girl came back outside with a luggage cart. He looked the same as he does in every picture.

9/14 - Reese Witherspoon eating at The Modern with several other ladies looking absolutely beautiful and beyond tiny - she must have been the idea behind the prototype for Polly Pocket.

I saw Liev Schreiber in SoHo yesterday (Friday, Sept 16) walking down Broadway with a teeny, TEENY blonde woman who I *think* was Naomi Watts. She was incredibly pretty and petite, which was a stark contrast to Liev, who must be at least 6 feet tall (I'm short...anything over 5'9 is huge to me) He was really cute and sort of leaning over her, in this big-protector type way. Are they even dating?

Three recent gawkings: On Thursday, 9/16 at around 5pm I saw a pockmarked but still nice Guy Pearce charging up University carrying a bag from Shakespeare and Company. Quite the literary type. Later that night, I learned that some people can break cardinal rules of fashion and still stop traffic a flimsy white dress-clad Heather Graham (doesn't she know it's after Labor Day?) crossing 14th in Union Square, to the delight of all
around. And then on Sunday Ryan Adams was talking on a cell phone outside of Paul's on Second Avenue in the East Village. He was looking, well, Ryan Adams-y. Congratulations to that photographer for those John Varvatos ads—how did he turn that Dep SuperHold #10 hair into something attractive?

Two days later I ate at Ideya right next to Kumar Pallana, best known as the diminutive Indian guy from Wes Anderson's films. He was eating with two kind of loud white guys I didn't recognize. At one point Mr. Pallana started to play with a plate, whereupon the waiter said, "This ain't no Greek restaurant!" But then he relented and Kumar started spinning plates, getting some applause from the other diners.

Walking up Broadway in Noho on a recent Friday evening, I got a nice little birthday present in the form of a close-range Karolina Kurkova sighting. No makeup, hair in a ponytail, wearing sweats and a tank-top, and still amazing-looking.

I just saw Julia Stiles eating dinner at West Bank Cafe. I was dying to see what she ordered but my husband said I was embarrassing myself.

Leaving the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy 9/15 passed by Victoria Gotti coming in from Canal St. Dressed in head to toe black stiletto boots, tights, mini skirt and sunglasses- skinny legs.

My D-grade Fashion Week sightings: Veronica Webb, Jonathan Cheban, Lizzie Grubman and the Power Girls, DMC minus Run, and Boy George. So much time wasted loitering in Bryant Park...so little to show for it.

Friday night, 9/16: several sightings. During a late dinner at Otto Enoteca on Fifth, saw Mike Myers and Dermot Mulroney dining with (separate) posses. Myers and crew loitered outside the restaurant at closing time, apparently trying to decide where to go next. And on West Broadway, saw Keanu Reeves sporting about a year's growth of facial hair.

I just got home from watching the strapping young lads of We Are Scientists play at The Fader/Adult Swim CMJ party, and standing behind me watching the show was none other than everybody's (second) favorite Weekend Update anchor, Amy Poehler. She was super tiny and totally rocking out to the band, who were quite excellent.

I've been reading the Gawker Stalker column over the past few weeks, and several people have written in about how Lauren Ambrose must be emulating the Olsens. Well, I went to the Jill Soloway reading at Mo Pitkins last night and met Lauren. She was there reading an excerpt from Jill's new book (which is hilarious, btw), with readings by Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, and Lili Taylor as well. After the reading, I met all of them, but back to Lauren... she is not "itty-bitty tiny." She is perfectly normal, definitely not the least bit fat, but not a bobble-head either. She was wearing this shapeless Prairie Home Companion-esque dress and espadrilles (bletch). Her hair is absolutely gorgeous. Her husband was with her, looking, umm, artsy, with his shoulder-length hair and black t-shirt, which was as oversized as her dress. They both seemed like they couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. Said "hi" to Molly Shannon, who was really quite friendly, but looking much older than her Mary Catherine Gallagher days (she has 2 kids now, I understand).

Sunday, 9/18: Saw Scott Speedman at the Loews Lincoln Square on the down escalator alone as I was coming up. He had long, beautiful hair and those eyes... those eyes. Hilarious mainly because my friends and I were snickering like the snobs we are at the "Underworld: Evolution" poster in the lobby just seconds earlier. We were justly punished for our snideness by having to sit through "Corpse Bride" for the next two hours.

I was walking down Union Square West yesterday (9/14/05) when I saw Van Wilder himself, Ryan Reynolds. Mmm - well done, Alanis. The guy's pretty tall - probably 6'1"ish - and dressed in a black button-down, jeans and enough facial scruff to make him East Village-appropriate. Now I know why she released essentially the same album as she did ten years ago: if I were engaged to that, I'd be far too busy hanging out naked to actually get anything done.

Went to the "Capote" screening at SONY the other night — mild celeb quotient — Lou Reed, Mike Nichols, Regis Philbin and wife, Matt Tyrnauer of VF. But I must say that the movie was among the best I have seen all year — Phillip Seymour Hoffman (or "Phil," as my actor date called him) has got to be the most amazing actor of our generation. He channels Truman. Amazing script, direction, supporting actors, the music in the background...amazing. Also met the director and one of the producers at the buffet afterwards, really nice if a bit overwhelmed (they had just gotten in from Toronto the night before), I suggested they start writing their Oscar speeches now. Run, don't walk...

Just saw Kate's baby daddy Jefferson Hack at the Calvin Klein show... only one camera descended upon him at his arrival to the 8th floor for the show... he refused to speak to them and when they wouldn't leave him alone he bolted... then, right before the show, he quickly returned to his seat.

Around 5:30 today (September 15th), I saw Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond fame walking up 8th Avenue near Port Authority with a male friend. He is extremely, extremely tall. He was scruffy looking, had sun glasses and a baseball cap on. And cause he's so tall, he really stood out. People were certainly pointing and staring.

Saw Tara Reid last night at Custo Barcelona show. Her hair is so peroxide-skank and her barely-there outfit was hideous, plus with the tacky silver stilettos she was wearing, at first I thought it was just another fine example of euro-trash (this was Custo, after all). But no... turned out to just be trash. After the show we popped into Koi for dinner—Nicky Hilton and Kevin Connolly walked in and out ALL night, with Bijou Phillips occasionally trailing; Shalom Harlow sat next to us with two friends. She was wearing a cute cropped jacket and Notify jeans. Bijou was wearing a costume-y getup with huge flowing sleeves and her hair up in a bun. It actually looked kinda cool. Oh, and the night before at the H&M party, was hanging with Brandon Boyd and Carolyn Murphy. They got into a fight and Carolyn stormed off to the bathroom. She is mind-scramblingly beautiful; he is surprisingly very tall and super skinny.

Saw Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, and Viggo Mortensen outside the Mercer late on Thursday night. They were with a couple of suits and a guy with his hair in a ponytail that my boyfriend insists was Orlando Bloom, and a dark haired woman.

On Saturday I saw the scrumptiously hot Bradley Cooper filming a segment for Kitchen Confidential at the Union Square Farmer's Market. This must be one low-budget job because I swear he carried the make-up tray himself and only had one cameraman and a few flacks with him. He applied liberal doses of Visene before they started filming.

Taye Diggs walked into me while crossing 9th ave @ 44th..was very sweet and very apologetic.....man is gorgeous he was wearing destructed jeans and gray t-shirt and was with some non familiar white guy. They went into Starbucks...pictures don't do him any justice.

Saw Bonnie Fuller getting into a limo at 1 park with some children. Don't know if they were hers or the ones she was going to eat for dinner.

Monday, Sept. 12 saw Courteney Cox outside of the Sephora on Union Square before her appearance to promote kinerase. Super-short with big head but still looks extremely young.

Spotted Rob Thomas and posse in the lobby at The Marquis. Tom Cruise picked a handsome one, or at least it seemed that way from a distance.

Walked by Pat O'Brien eating al fresco on MacDougal Street. It's gross enough when middle-aged men outwardly express their midlife crisis in public, but when that man is Pat O'Brien, orange-skinned and mustache at full blast, it manages to send me into a slight depression. Luckily, I remembered listening to the voicemail semi-scandal ("Let's hire some hookers, get some coke, and go CRAZY!") and got enough jollies to continue along my merry way.
