Team Party Crash: Bruce Benderson's Book Party
Bruce Benderson, Erica Jong and Naomi Wolf resist the urge to start an orgy.
Something truly special happened last night: a book party that actually didn't suck. Granted, it was totally Gay — but still! Penguin imprint Tarcher celebrated the release of Bruce Benderson's The Romanian — a homo-hot account of his affair with a Romanian street hustler — by throwing down at Nubla, courtesy of hosts John Waters and Blackbook magazine. It was a surprisingly glitzy affair, with Waters doing his adorably creepy thing, Benderson being leashed by a "minder," and Blackbook EIC Aaron Hicklin spinning like Pete Tong circa 1999. After the jump, staff photographer Nikola Tamindzic captures the sexually liberated literati.

Blackbook EIC Aaron Hicklin's influences include
Pete Tong and Carl Cox.
Blackbook editor-at-large Meg Thomann helps Sloane Crosley put on her "game face."
Penguin publicist Jessica Pilot has yet to discover that Bruce Benderson is not on her team.
Blackbook senior editor Jordan Heller and film-dude Conor Guy practice their best Cobrasnake faces.
She knows what you're looking at — and it's your problem, not hers.
Erica Jong: Fear of Blogging
"We just popped in on the way to Swifty's..."
John Waters and Benderson anxiously hope for a quick exit to Boys' Room.
After the 12th minute of Waters' drunken wedding speech, the guests begin to grow visibly uncomfortable.
Pimp Don Magic Juan Johnson faces some serious competition.
"A book! Yes! After all these years, finally I have a book!"
Naomi Wolf smiles because she's found Jesus.
"No matter how gay the party gets, baby, you can always count on me!"
