AP: Construction Boom Ensures You Will Never Get a Good Night of Sleep Again
There's an AP report out yesterday afternoon revealing that the city's huge construction boom is also creating a huge city noise boom:
Residents are assaulted by the noise of jackhammers and bulldozers and confronted by orange traffic cones at practically every turn. Rush-hour commuters have to wade into traffic to get around construction equipment on the sidewalks. Trucks clog the narrow streets, their horns blaring. And the digging often starts before the morning cup of coffee is ready.
We'd have more to say about this — more detail, some context, perhaps a joke — but the fucking MTA is has been jackhammering at their fucking construction site across the street all fucking more, and we're having difficulty thinking straight about anything anymore. Oh, except for this: The article says things will only get worse. Fuckers.
