As New York melts into a jaded little puddle, Starbucks is taking pity on everyone and offering free iced coffee at all locations from 1-3 PM today.
A bottle of nice, hydrating water, however, is still going to cost you.

Huge line already of about 30 people. ONE LINE for everything.
A+ for concept. D- for execution.
1) one line instead of seperating the free coffee from regular customers is chaotic.
2) once you make your order, they don't ask for names or initials thus with everyone crowding around the serving table, the potential for confusion and caffeine-withdrawal stinkiness is high.
recommendation: Have a seperate table with a barista bitch/bastard just ladling out the coffee-goodness all in one place like a NYC Marathon water table.

The Washington Heights (181 st.) Starbuck had the free coffe counter outside on the sidewalk. Cheapskates don't deserve air conditioning!
So, I show up at 2:40 and just then the barista tells the only three people waiting that they ran out of ice and that we will have to wait 20 minutes.
What? Who waits 20 minutes for a cup of coffe? Also, wasn't the offer over by 3:00 pm? I just left.
31st and 9th Starbucks=9 billion+ people waiting for cafe con leche iced coffee as 8 billion+ regular iced coffees sit on the counter with no takers. Simple solution: get a regular iced coffee and put your own damn milk in it, you lazy coffee lushes.
The Starbucks at 6th and 24th is already so crowded that the line is out of the store and starting to go around the block. Not worth it!
