For all of you who contributed flowers, candles, and Bloomingdale's gift cards to the makeshift sidewalk memorials outside Hyde, Guy's, and the Chateau Marmont last night, your generous spirit and prayers have been answered in the form of a luxury goods miracle: Lindsay Lohan's stolen Hermès handbag has been recovered in the Heathrow Airport parking lot.

It is thought the bag was found in a car park at Heathrow by a member of the public, who then contacted police. No-one has been arrested.

"A member of the public contacted us to say they had found it and brought it in. We have not yet established what, if anything, is missing," a police spokeswoman said.

A police source said the bag contained "items", but it was unclear whether the valuable jewellery had been taken.

The 20-year-old's bag also contained her vital asthma medication, her publicist said.

While the news is indeed a welcome bit of happiness upon which to end the week, we'd advise cautious optimism until full assurance is given that the bag was returned with every precious rock and valuable dose of septum-restorative asthma medication intact.
