Disney CEO Robert Iger told investors that the company already earned $1 million from iTunes movie downloads in under a week. "Clearly customers are saying to us they want content in multiple ways," he said. Good spin, Iger. Because if you think about it, customers didn't say a thing.

Iger expects $50 million in iTunes movie revenue this year. That's reasonable. Sounds like a lot. But Disney reported total revenues of $32 billion last year. The Pirates of the Caribbean sequel alone brought in over a billion dollars worldwide in the past 10 weeks. Comparing online media revenue with good old box office revenue is like watching those planet size comparison charts. In Disney's world, iTunes is just a dwarf planet.
