There are so many Great Moments in Journalism out there that it gets hard to keep track sometimes. Help us out.

Yesterday's tragedy offered ample opportunity for Great Journalism, from the A.P.'s initial placement of the Upper East Side near Rockefeller Center to the frequent and important notation that Sotheby's auction house was in the vicinity of the crash. But we think this, from the Times, represents the best of what this terrible event brought out in our news media:

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg held a news conference at Sotheby's, in a converted exhibition room on the second floor. The reporters and officials who attended were damp and dripping from the rain.

Outside the emergency was breaking up. The Red Cross had arrived with smiles and tepid coffee. Cigarettes were smoked. Firefighters talked shop.

And a strange black S peered into the night, 30 stories in the sky.
