The power of Patrolmen's Benevolent Association cards are an open secret among those who often get pulled over or do stupid things for which they would normally be arrested. (to wit: a friend who was caught throwing lit matches onto train tracks avoided getting arrested by flashing his card), though they're distributed so widely that more often than not, they're ignored unless you have one of the special family members-only badges. Still, distributing the cards to journalists is a nice touch for anyone who's considering how they'd like to be bought off this year. Cheers, PBA!
