The four avid readers of puppy-eyed cirrhosis-livered author Jay McInerney's blog on House and Garden might be aware that the author was planning on leaving the Upper East Side apartment he shared with his wife, Anne "The Man" Hearst. More than kin and less than kind Braden Keil reports the duo have now bought their own home and garden over in what we like to call N.Y.U. Village, at 25 E. 9th Street.

Though listed at $3,495,000, the duo paid $3.2 million for the penthouse. Our guess is McInerney probably threw in a couple of signed copies of A Hedonist in the Cellar. Lord knows he has enough lying around. As per the tear sheet, the pad comes with greenhouses, 2 bedrooms and "abundent of closets." Before Mr. BLBC and Ms. SLA moved in, the apartment belonged to a somewhat cooler-named power couple, Lolita Ximena Echavarria and Simon Cummings Roosevelt. She is the daughter of the Colombian ambassador to the US from 1967-1968 (the height of the FARC insurgency); he is the great-great-grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt and a great-grandson of E. E. Cummings.
