This morning local ABC meteorologist Bill Evans popped up on "Good Morning America" to pimp his new novel, Category 7. Interviewed by Gawker Hero Sam Champion, Bill revealed that one of the main characters was, in fact, based on the lovable weatherman. We could care less about the weather or hurricanes or whatever—but there's Sam Champion slash fic in hardcover? We are running to the bookstore NOW.
You know, I watch Channel 7 in the mornings and for a moment when they were trying out new Weathermen, Evans subbed in a couple of times on GMA before Sam got the job. I felt really bad for Bill for a moment cause for a couple of weeks after the announcement, you could see a darkness in Bill's eyes.
I'm glad to see that he bounced back and most likely has this "special" character get his assed kicked by freak tornado on Fire Island or something.
I thought it was a bad Funny or Die video. Weatherman interviews another weatherman about second weatherman's weather-themed novel?
And those people are too well-dressed to be real weathermen. Weatherpeople. In the midwest, weatherpeople are contractually obligated to shop exclusively at Men's Wearhouse.
This video is pretty anticlimactic (admit it), but as one who, like the Gawker editors, is strangely drawn to all things Sam Champion, I can't say I wasn't happy to take 2 minutes and watch it.
I mean, if only for that blinding, iridescent smile on Sammy.
