Earlier this year, AOL reps told Loudoun Summer Music Fest organizer Tracey Parent they'd pony up the usual $80,000 for the show in next year's budget. That's no longer the case, local paper Leesburg Today reports. And that's a surprise how?

Since AOL is abandoning both Northern Virginia and original music programming, we'd only be shocked if they continued to sponsor the Loudoun Summer Music Fest. In the past, AOL joined with the Loudoun Foundation to bring popular acts Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pat Benatar, Blues Traveler, The Black Crowes and Peter Frampton to the series. Back in 1985, anybody ever think little Quantum Computer Services and a failed Pizza Hut brand manager named Steve Case would bring those acts to Northern Virginia ? Easy come, easy go.
