Everybody knows that reading books is for loners and nerds. But has anybody actually scientifically documented this information? The findings of a very important study by data-miner/WikiScanner creator Virgil Griffith, Books That Make You Dumb, tell us exactly which books will impair your intelligence.

Using Facebook, Virgil downloaded the ten most popular books at every college ("manually, as not to violate Facebook's ToS"), then the average SAT/ACT scores for students attending every college. The end result looks a little like this: Books <=> Colleges <=> Average SAT Scores. ("YES! I'm aware correlation ≠ causation," he adds nerdily). We must point out that low SAT scores may also cause people to read dumber books—but all in all, well-played, sir!
