To clear this up once and for all: Beer pong is a game that involves paddles and cups/glasses of beer placed on the table as obstacles during a normal game of ping pong. Beirut (a game invented at Lehigh in the '80's) involves the throwing of ping pong balls into the opposing team's cups which are set up at the opposite end of the table. Somewhere along the line a group of geniuses who probably use words like "Bro-Sef" made the erroneous assumption that Beirut, a game played with both beer and ping pong balls, must be that game called Beer Pong, which it isn't. C'mon people.
So why don't we all just start referring to Blackjack as Mexican? After all they both have something to do with the number 21, right?
