Venture capitalist and "futurist" Esther Dyson has no interest in investing in any tech-blog empire aggregated by Michael Arrington. "The beauty of blogs is that they're decentralized," Dyson tells Big Think. She's more interested in colonizing space, which seems about as likely to come true as the TechCrunch editor's fantasies of heading up a rollup of other tech blogs.
The only reason I like so many Gawker sites isn't brand loyalty, it's that they're all written and edited to a high standard. I know if somebody wrote like they do at Engadget (for instance) the Dark Lord would have them taken out and shot.
Esther is investing in too many other interesting things? Lets see... health care (several presidents have tried to fix that one) and space travel? Last I heard, earth was the only planet that could sustain life. So, space travel would become a large scale, profitable business in order to go where? I am not pro blog investment, but Esther could have come up with a better referrence than space travel. Earth to Esther, don't make a capital call for space travel.
She didn't say anything other than Techcrunch is an "aggregation". Which is, of course, not true.
