Isaac Mizrahi Sits Atop Empire, Wears Magic Diamond
So why did Isaac Mizrahi terminate his massively successful and lucrative collaboration with Target in order to take up with dull old office-wear staple Liz Claiborne, where he's now creative director? He's not telling Meredith Bryan due to being "contractually muzzled," but naturally the loquacious designer has plenty to say on other subjects, from the Xanax he takes before attending the CFDA dinner ("I can't make it though without a tranquilizer, that's just it, I'm sorry,") to vlogging, which he calls "this strange, insatiable desire to keep going on and on and on, to keep expressing yourself, you know?" to his weight: "I'm so fat, I'm so fat, I'm so huge," to his new TV projects:
"What's interesting is, I have like two series I'm working on that have to do with scripts... And one is based on this script that I wrote, actually a series based on a script I wrote, which we'll see about."
Wait, sorry, what? Never mind: The best news is that Isaac's love life is going great. He's thinking about moving in with his boyfriend, actor Arnold Germer, whom he met thanks to advice from an Ayurvedic astrologer:
"...he said to me, 'You should wear diamonds starting on any given Thursday. So I got this ring made... I started wearing it, and my life improved a lot, it's crazy; and then I met my boyfriend Arnold and I started wearing it on my commitment finger, and then I made him one just like it... I don't know, it’s a big story, right? It's good, isn't it?"
That sound you just heard? Every unattached person in New York is immediately calling to find out this miracle worker's number.
