Sorry but for once Slate has no clue at all. She looked terrible and was never going to the correct places to accomplish what she wanted.
Second Life is a serious money and time sink a good skin, dances, walk and clothes will run an initial $50. I have friends that used to spend $100 or more a month just to own land and that is not even for basic avatar or house upkeep.
There is no real way to make money unless you want to spend hours just trying to break even. Most of Second Life has gone Gorean now anyway which is just creepy.
