Boy George is going to jail. For a year and change. He handcuffed a hooker to his wall and then threatened him with sex toys and whips.

He was convicted back in December, and now the 47-year-old bit of 80's driftwood has been sentenced to 15 months in prison. The conviction and sentencing will very likely bar him from ever again traveling to the United States (and Japan, apparently) for concerts and the like. So, that's too bad.

One amazing detail from the trial that's just come out:

Carlsen told the jury he only escaped after wrenching the fixture free, but was beaten with a chain by the singer as he fled into the street in Shoreditch, east London. In an apparently accidental allusion to Culture Club's 1982 No 1 hit Heather Norton, for the prosecution, asked the jury during the trial: "Did he really have to hurt him?"
