Joshua Trujillo's 145-year-old newspaper, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, will probably stop printing. But the photographer hadn't yet taken his dream shot of the neon globe atop the newspaper's headquarters. So he inflated a kayak.

And started rowing.

The challenge was to hold my position in a kayak in 10 knot winds, 500 yards offshore, with about $8,000 worth of camera and lens in hand.

We'd like to see some punk local blogger take a photo this stunning. (Oh, wait, nevermind.)

Nostalgic ink-stained wretches, perhaps a bit crestfallen by their industry's dark times, can buy Trujillo's picture for their walls and support Hearst's experiment in online-only local journalism at the PI in the process.
