Barack Obama lost 18 percent of his TV audience between Tuesday's press conference and the prior televised presser, in February. Ratings were also down 23 percent from his non-State of the Union address.

It's unclear how many viewers simply had their power shut off or homes repossessed in the interim, or were busy scrounging for food. But 40.4 million still managed to tune in.

And the president definitely made Jay Leno and 60 Minutes his bitches last week: his appearance netted tham 8.9 million homes and 17 million viewers, respectively.

An overexposed president lifts all boats, it seems.
