It turns out that right now is a great time to be in the newspaper business if you're selling to beggars. Or if you're a beggar trying to sell commuters news about being poor.

The New York Times says:

The publications, which once employed mainly the chronically homeless, offer a survival strategy for those who, for the first time, are checking into shelters, relying on friends’ couches or struggling to pay rent.

Would that be the terrified readers or the already-poor vendors looking for a "survival strategy" in the newspaper? Works either way, really.
