Here it is, at long last, the idea that will save print and the newspaper industry as a whole! It's deceptively simple! And the chances of it backfiring horribly are...even or better!

Just charge a shitload of money to read the newspaper online; then, the print version looks cheap! The Newport (RI) Daily News will go down in history as the inventor of this idea, which is sure to be...remembered:

Want home delivery of the print paper? That's $145 a year. Want home delivery and online access? That's $245. And if you want just online access - to an electronic edition that duplicates the appearance of the print product - it's a whopping $345.

So unless everybody then says "Well fuck your shitty overpriced paper, then," this is brilliant.
