Song parodies used to belong to Weird Al and comedians with pianos, but the recent proliferation of video editing programs have made song parodies the people's genre. These literal takes on music videos show us how silly they can be.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler The vanguard of the genre; How often does the phrase 'What the effing crap, that angel guy just felt me up" convey all the remorse in the world?

"Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fear Deserves points for sounding enough like the original version to confuse your friends. Loses points for glossing over the monkey.

"Loser" by Beck Turns out literal 'Loser' just amplifies how incomprehensible regular 'Loser' is.

"Take On Me" by A-Ha Much like 'Take on Me' is the first track in everyone's iTunes, this video started it all.

"Love Is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar Points off for ignoring the creepy subtext of the video. Points added for the Fred Ward look-a-like in the Dad role.

"White Wedding" by Billy Idol It's hard to deny the comedy in a Billy Idol impersonator yelling "Pirouette."

"Read My Mind" by The Killers How hard would have been to get some mustache jokes in there?

"Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles Points for having a different take on the concept that is logical and horrifying.
