South Park might not have existed had it not been for the corporatism of Christmas. Here's a look at two paramount characters that have been around since the beginning: A maker of toys and a fisherman of souls.

In the real world the battle of Christmas in terms of figureheads has always been a battle royale over who is deserving of recognition. The constant question is "Santa or Jesus?" The religious right demands Jesus is the reason for the season, as corporate america tries to appease all religions by pushing forward with Saint Nick, the patron saint of commerce. On Comedy Central's South Park, a show often as polarizing to it's viewers as it is funny, Santa and Jesus may bicker now and then, but in the end they lean on one another to save the holidays over and over again. In a world without respect, Santa and Jesus seem to persevere with love, kindness, and the sort of violence a lot of people find offensive.

Jesus Versus Frosty
In this short animation from 1992, Trey Parker and Matt Stone make the first precursor to South Park. Jesus' appearance is of super-powered proportions, while Santa isn't Santa at all, he's an impostor! Jesus saves the day with a halo of fury in this rare gem from the South Park vaults.

Jesus Versus Santa
In 1995 Brian Graden, a FOX executive, hired two young filmmakers to create a video Christmas card for his friends. He was going on nothing but the choppy aforementioned animated student film. Nobody dreamed it would go on to become the first chapter in one of the most successful adult cartoons ever created. Here Jesus and Santa are forced to come to terms with one another, and before they can maul each other to death the wisdom of children solidifies an enduring friendship.

Santa Versus Satan's minions
In an episode focusing on adorable Christmas Critters that are anything but your typical Satan worshipers, Santa comes to the rescue. Santa, never afraid to use weapons, kills the Lucifer Loving wildlife, but unfortunately for Mr. Kringle and Stan, Kyle offers to host the anti-christ in his body because he's Jewish. Later we find, with very little surprise, this particular episode was penned by Eric Cartman himself.

Jesus Versus David Blaine
It seems when Santa isn't there to spur on the savior of mankind, Jesus' miracles are a little, I don't know, underwhelming?

Santa and Jesus Versus The Terrorists
In this Christmas Special Santa and Jesus join forces to stop terrorism. Jesus kills the insurgents that attack in honor of saving his friend, but Santa isn't as forgiving as his Dietic BFF.

Jesus and Santa Sing!
When the transgressions of South Park are not filling up their agendas with violence against those that wish to war with Christmas, Jesus and Santa take to Vegas in a fun filled lounge act the whole family can enjoy.
