Sure, for most of you, it was the monologue you were dying to see... but for others, for the die hards on Team Conan, the show didn't pay off until a few minutes in.

It's about time we were all talking about Conan, because I'm not a golfer and I didn't really care about Tiger Woods and his sex life. Conan's sex life, sadly, remains a mystery... but a lot of times when people think the world is watching they try and appeal to the lowest common denominator. If that's what Conan was doing, then it's what he's been doing since the days of the pimpbot. The follow up to his monologue was simultaneously funny enough and topical enough to get away with being inexplicably bizarre. It might not have been as edgy as a masturbating bear, but it was done at the same time slot in which Leno had worked for years to get people to believe that "Headlines" was a funny idea.
