PaidContent says that the 14-city Gothamist network of blogs has been sold to Cablevision-owned Rainbow Media for $5-6 million. Founder Jake Dobkin can now talk trash about the New York Times from atop a solid gold fixie bike.

The sale hasn't been officially confirmed yet (we have an email in to Dobkin. UPDATE: He's not talking about it), but—for what it's worth—we hear that he's been shopping the company around for roughly that price, so it all seems incredibly plausible.
