Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert would like to repeal the 17th Amendment. That is the one that allows for the direct election of Senators.

That was a power grab by the Feds, see, when everyone voted to give themselves the power to vote for Senators. This Gohmert guy is always getting himself into trouble with the nonsense he says and does. What a character!

Here's a classic clip, from all the way back in 2006, when corruption mascot and principled Iraq war critic Jack Murtha completely embarrassed Gohmert, after Gohmert attempted to make one of those bullshit hit-and-run "this war-opposing decorated veteran is a coward" attacks that were and are so popular among people who look like Louie Gohmert.

(The next year, Heath Shuler called Gohmert a "gutless chickenshit thief" for stealing a sign from Shuler's office.)
