Jason Pomeranc
Scion of real estate developer Jack Pomeranc, man-about-town Jason is responsible for boutique hotels like 60 Thompson and Thompson LES in New York, and the Roosevelt in LA.
Pomeranc grew up in the real estate biz: His father Jack founded development and construction firm the Pomeranc Group in 1956. A Cardozo law school grad, Jason started his career as an attorney. He returned to the family fold in 1997, bringing a hipper sensibility to a company whose holdings included profitable, albeit uncool, properties like a handful of Hiltons and Ramadas in suburban New Jersey. Pomeranc put himself on the map in 2001 when he opened 60 Thompson in SoHo, which quickly became a hangout for the young and trendy. He's since founded the Thompson Hotel Group, replicating the formula with the Sagamore in Miami and the Roosevelt Hotel in LA, among others. He's also branched out into restaurants with his Do Not Disturb Restaurant group.
Pomeranc's pretty boy looks—and real estate money—have made him popular on the New York-LA-Miami circuit. He briefly dated Hollywood bad girl Shannen Doherty in 2004, and was also involved with fashion publicist Ali Wise. [Image via Getty]
