Designer Anna Sui is admired for her eclectic, rock-n-roll influenced clothing worn by hoards of celebrities.

Sui's stayed true to her aesthetic all her life: as a child she began clipping fashion-magazine pages to fill her famous Genius Files, which have served as an inspiration for her line throughout her career. After studying at Parsons, she began designing in her apartment, and with the encouragement of famous friends Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista, Sui landed her first runway show in 1991. With the added media boost of having supermodels as BFFs, Sui opened her flagship store in SoHo; with its kooky interior and signature doll-head mannequins, it was a hit. Since the runaway success of her rocker-chic namesake line, Sui has created a more youthful line, Dolly Girl, a shoe line, many perfumes, and partnered with Target. She can even boast being a CFDA Lifetime Achievement award winner. [Image via Getty]
