The former president and CEO of OMD Worldwide, Uva was the chief executive at the Spanish-language media giant Univision until 2011.

Now a member of the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame, Uva made his splash in the television world at CNN, where he worked in advertising. After moving up the ranks to Vice Executive President for CNN Sales worldwide, he moved to Turner Broadcasting, where he was in charge of marketing for major networks like the Cartoon Network, TNT, and TBS. His set his sights even higher, and by 2002 he became President and CEO of OMD Worldwide, the media and marketing strategies leg of Omnicon. One of the most celebrated media agencies in the world, during Uva's tenure OMD was recognized as the "Global Media Agency of the Year" twice. But Uva quickly set his sights back to television, and in 2007 he was named the CEO of Univision, the largest Spanish-language network in the US. Capitalizing on the growth of the Hispanic community, Univision's primetime programming, during Uva's reign, often out-rated shows that aired at the same time slot on major networks. But shakeups within NBC in early 2011 led Uva to tender his resignation in March of that year, and he has since become director of the Dunkin Brand Group. [Image via Getty]
