Fabrizio Moretti
Moretti is the hottie drummer of NYC's privileged kids-cum-rock and roll outfit The Strokes. Amidst the other's brooding and boozing, Fab has always been painted as the "groups' soft spoken intellectual" and token nice guy.
Born in 1980 in Rio to Italian and Brazilian parents, Moretti speaks fluent English and Portuguese. His parents moved the family to New York when he was five years old, and he attended the private high school Dwight, where he met future bandmates Julian Casablancas and Nick Valensi. The Strokes, also comprised of guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. and bassist Nikolai Fraiture were Mercury Lounge fixtures in the late 90's and garnered widespread critical and commercial success with their 2001 platinum debut album Is This It. Known for their insouciant coolness and minimal production style, the band elicited praise from music critics and were heralded as "the saviors of rock and roll." While the band continues to release albums to tepid reviews and sales, they have never managed to recreate the initial zeitgeist of their first album.
During the Strokes' hiatus in 2007 Moretti took time for the side project, Little Joy with then-flame Binki Shapiro and Rodrigo Amarante, with their eponymous debut in 2008 receiving high marks in Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.
Moretti has also had a string of high profile romances with Hollywood's leading ladies, including a five year on-again off-again relationship with Drew Barrymore that ended in 2007. He's also been linked to Kirsten Dunst, and he's most recently been dating SNL's Kristin Wiig as of late 2011.
