Jorge Posada his MLB debut in 1995 as a New York Yankee and stayed with the team until 2012, when he announced his retirement. He was the starting catcher for the Yankees since 2000 and was on the roster of four World Series championship teams.

Posada was born in Puerto Rico in 1971 and was drafted by the Yankees in 1990 as an infielder. He played in the minor leagues for a year before being switched to catcher and stayed in the minors until 1995, when he made his debut as a Yankee. In 2000, after Joe Girardi left the team, Posada was promoted to full-time catcher, where he stayed until 2008, when he was placed on the DL for a shoulder injury. Posada made his return in 2009, though he was soon again plagued by injuries, and following the 2010 season, he was switched from full-time catcher to designated hitter. Posada announced his retirement from baseball on January 24, 2012.

Posada retires as a five-time All-Star, a five-time winner of the Silver Slugger Award, and a four-time World Series champion.
