One of the country's best known and most prolific sportswriters, Lupica's best known for his columns for the Daily News. He's also the author of books like The Summer of '98: When Homers Flew, Records Fell, and Baseball Reclaimed America, How Sports Got Away From the Fans and How We Get It Back, Bump and Run, and Wild Pitch, as well as a handful of novels and children's books.

Raised in New Hampshire, Lupica attended Boston College and began his career in sports writing in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He came into national prominence writing "The Sporting Life" column for Esquire for over a decade, and although he's written for ESPN The Magazine, Men's Journal, Parade, and Travel + Leisure Golf, he best known to New Yorkers as the sports connoisseur for the Daily News. Known for his long list of targets, including but not limited to, the New York Yankees, Isiah Thomas, Notre Dame football, Rudy Giuliani, Dick Cheney, and the Barclays Center, Lupica is not afraid to ruffle some feathers. Although he failed at his bid for TV talk show stardom with The Mike Lupica Show, he's often featured as a sports expert on shows like Good Morning America, the CBS Morning Show, and, of course, various shows on ESPN. Not content to be bound to column limits, Lupica also has numerous books under his belt, from co-writing autobiographies with Reggie Jackson, Bill Parcells, and screenwriter William Goldman to mystery novels and children's books.
