Beginning her career as a Bergdorf Goodman's all-important window dresser, Linda Fargo quickly worked her way up on the luxe department store's totem pole and is currently the senior vice president and principal tastemaker at Bergdorf's. Fargo and her cohorts spot trends, choose products, and decide what is worthy of gaining admission to the overpriced fashion temple.

After studying Fine Art at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Fargo headed to New York City where she landed a job as a window dresser at Macy's. A little over a decade later she was crowned visual director; a short time later she moved on to helm visual merchandising for I. Magnin, the now defunct luxury chain, and Gap. In 1996 she headed to Bergdorf Goodman as the Visual Director of the Women's store, and in less than a year was promoted to the position of VP of Visual Merchandising.

Fargo is the author of Dreams through the Glass, a coffee table book that documents all that inspires her to make the windows at Bergdorf Goodman the world famous windows they have become. In 2010 Fargo and David Hoey, director of Visual Presentation at Bergdorf Goodman, collaborated on Windows of Bergdorf Goodman, a 16-pound tome that is priced at a reasonable $550. [Image via Getty]
