Thousand of Greeks turned out for May Day demonstrations yesterday, protesting proposed austerity measures, including pension cuts, government salary freezes and tax hikes. The Times reports demonstrators were "largely peaceful." But some people were mad. Firebombing-level mad. Video inside.

Terrifying. The Greek government hopes to save $32 billion the austerity measures and avoid defaulting on their massive debt. Let's up they spend some of that money on flame-retardant police uniforms. [NYT]
