South Koreans Killing Each Other, and Their Babies, Over Computer Games
A South Korean couple let their baby die of malnutrition because they were addicted to online games. Now the government will offer rehabilitation centers for those who always need just one more hit.
Kim Yun-jeong and her husband Kim-Jae-beom would go to an internet cafe every night to play a role-playing game, report the New York Times.
On the morning of Sept. 24 last year, they returned home after a 12-hour game session to find their actual daughter, a 3-month-old named Sa-rang - love in Korean - dead, shriveled with malnutrition.
The Times also mention people who have sought out and attacked other actual people for things they've done in games, people who've dropped dead from exhaustion after five-day marathons and a young man who "was arrested and accused of killing his mother for nagging him about his obsessive playing."
