Al Qaeda's third-in-command, Mustafa Abu Yazid, has died. Maybe. According to ABC, al Qaeda released a believed-to-be-genuine eulogy for "the group's chief operating officer." It seems he was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan.

This is Abu Yazid giving an interview with al Jazeera last year. Abu Yazid was al Qaeda's "chief financial officer" at the time of the September 11 attacks. (Finance guys, right?) He had been promoted several times, including a stint as the leader of al Qaeda in Afghanistan, after people above him were killed. Apparently, he argued against the World Trade Center attack, fearing the U.S. response. Lot of good it did him. [ABC]
