Rescue Me returned for it's sixth season last night, and a lot has changed since we last saw the boys of Ladder 62. Thankfully, their dependency on alcohol is not one of them.

Last season's cliffhanger finale left the fate of Tommy Gavin up in the air, as he lay shot and dying on his barroom floor. This season starts up sometime after the shooting, as Tommy has already left the hospital and united with his family and fellow firefighters. Sometime between these events, Tommy died. After spending time in both heaven and hell he returned to life and will now spend the rest of the season deciding what path he will choose.
