Osama Bin Laden remains at large. But today, America meted out justice to the man who very well might have cooked his eggs on the morning of 9/11. Osama bin Laden's chef pled guilty to "providing support for terrorism".

Before pleading guilty at a military tribunal to charges of conspiracy and providing material support for terrorists, Sudanese-born Ibrahim al-Qosi had been held at Guantanamo bay for 8 years. 8 years! What could the U.S. have possibly been doing with Osama bin Laden's personal chef for 8 years? Water-boarding him until he coughed up his secret recipe for half-fat spaghetti carbonera?

Al-Qosi's is the first conviction during the Obama administration by the military tribunals and will likely be used to boost Obama's controversial flip-flop decision to hold over the tribunals from the Bush administration. But let's not get too carried away here: It's Osama bin Laden's chef. This is like as if the US decided to prosecute the Bush administration for war crimes and started with the White House's gardener. Sure, technically, every minute Bush didn't have to pull weeds in his Rhododendron garden was another minute he could spend trampling all over the Geneva Convention. But, that's not really the point. Likewise, Osama Bin Laden probably could have planned and executed 9/11 just as well if he and his buddies had to eat takeout Chinese every night.

But anyway, good job Military tribunals. After 8 years, you have successfully put away a maniac cook and probably got some really good recipes for Quick and Easy Goat Stew to boot.
