Apocalyptic Ex-Congressman Gives Comical, Hyperbolic Denunciation of Obama
Former congressman and presidential candidate Tom Tancredo is an unlikeable human; whenever GOP candidates invite him to their rallies, they immediately regret doingso. And yesterday, Tancredo went on a tear against Barack Obama, using the most epic, hilarious language available.
Tancredo, a former Colorado congressman who briefly made a national name with his racist ads and diatribes during his 2008 Republican presidential campaign, appeared at a rally for Colorado Senate candidate Ken Buck yesterday, and literally said this:
But I firmly believe this - it's not just, you know, sort of a dramatic statement that a person would make to get press or something, or ink. I believe this with all my heart. The greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers is the guy that is in the White House today.
He forgot a few things — Obama being a space monster, chiefly — but otherwise, pretty thorough.
Ken Buck, after the rally:
On a conference call with reporters after the event, Buck denounced Tancredo's remarks and said he does not view Obama as the nation's greatest threat.
"I was surprised when Tom said that," Buck said. "I think he tends to exaggerate sometimes."
Of President Obama, Buck said, "I respect him as our leader."
Wow. Can you believe that Ken Buck "respects" the greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers?
