Tar Balls Wash Ashore In Northeast Florida
Analysts predicted that it would only be a matter of time before oil from the Gulf spill would make its way up the east coast. On Thursday locals at Crescent Beach, in northeast Florida, found tar balls on the shore.
It's not yet clear if the tar found on Crescent Beach is from the Deepwater Horizon spill, but local residents have found a lot of it. Meanwhile, today BP says it might start work on a new containment cap thanks to a stretch of good weather in the Gulf of Mexico. They hope to have it completed in five days.
