New York has published a depressing profile of John McCain and his quest to become a boring right-wing hack who can survive a Republican primary. He's so miserable. And he doesn't appreciate naked children like Scott Brown giving him advice!

Brown campaigned for McCain in Arizona shortly after his Senate upset in Massachusetts, and at the time — when Brown was still hot as the dickens among Republicans, who thought he would singlehandedly kill health care reform (ha) — McCain seemed so happy to have him! But he wasn't.

When Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown won Ted Kennedy's old seat and agreed to campaign for McCain in Arizona, McCain could hardly believe he needed a political neophyte from the Northeast to help him draw crowds in his own state, especially one who had declined McCain's invitation to campaign for him in Massachusetts (fearing McCain's Establishment taint). After a rally at Grand Canyon University, McCain was annoyed when Brown tried giving him campaign advice while they drove in a car together. Three nights later, Brown and McCain were scheduled to have dinner, but McCain canceled.

Why would John McCain get so upset at Scott Brown's suggestion to pose naked for a magazine? It's primary season. Now is not the time for bashfulness.
