This new feature will introduce you to our fantastic team of bright and eager interns. Kicking off our new "get to know an intern" feature is Emily Farris.

How did you learn about the Gawker.TV internship program?

My boss at my Time Out New York internship knew Richard Blakeley and suggested that it would be a great internship, which it has been.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I still don't have a set career goal. I think that I just need to keep trying out new fields. But, my biggest passion is music and I love promoting things, so if I could do publicity or social media for a record label or something like that, I feel that I'd be pretty content.

What is your all time favorite TV Show?

Probably Arrested Development.

What is your favorite post on Gawker.TV?

I am really fond of Double Rainbow guy. And anything Katt Williams.

What experiences did you hope to gain from this internship?

I hoped to gain more video editing and technical skills, more than anything.

Did your Gawker.TV internship live up to your expectations? How so?

Definitely. I met really awesome people, learned everything I wanted to learn (plus much more). It was also much more enjoyable than I expected (not that I expected it to be bad at all, I just really didn't think I could enjoy something this much).

Was there something in particular that you learned from this internship that you didn't know before you started?

Yes, how to capture content and do precise video editing.

What has been your favorite part about your internship?

Being able to do what I would do on my own sitting at home (sitting around looking at viral content or TV). But that, paired with the people I'm surrounded by, makes it great.

What skills do you feel you've gained as a result of this internship?

Knowing what viewers might like over something else (which I've kind of gotten a feel for from page views and what not) and making up more short, yet catchy headlines for promoting things.

What was the biggest surprise you encountered interning at Gawker.TV?

Surprise? Well, I guess I haven't really met one person that I really don't like. Everyone in the office is willing to help and just generally laid back, which I appreciate. OH, YES! Another surprise was how addicting trashy television can be. I don't have a TV at home and sometimes if I'm bored I find myself craving some Kourtney and Khloe or Maury. It's bad...

How does this internship differ from any other previous internships you might have had in the past?

I enjoy what I am doing so much more, and everyone working in the office really works to incorporate the interns to make us feel like we're really a part of the team just as much as them.

If you could, would you intern here all over again?

Yes, can I?

Would you recommend interning for Gawker.TV to others?

Without a doubt.

Do you have any tips or advice you would give future Gawker.TV interns?

ATTACH AN IMAGE TO YOUR PITCHES! :) And just take every opportunity you get to post something. I mean... why not?

Do you have any ideas on how we can improve the internship program?

Nope. Although I did like the back corner by the elevator more than the little table in the back. I'm not sure how you would fix that though. That's just petty.

What do you hope to do once you finish your internship?

Get another internship I enjoy as much as this one and finish my senior year at NYU. The real trick will be getting an actual job I enjoy as much as this internship...

Any regrets?

Not a one! Well, actually, forgetting to attach an image so many times. Sorry Blakeley.
