Glenn Beck took his act on tour and revealed that he is indeed the stand up comedian everyone suspected. His set here comes complete with applause breaks, an "I love you too, [audience member]" and evading outright depression with jokes.

The misdirection during the crying scene is classic stand up: he leads you down the "things I will miss so much I'm crying" path and turns it around—when you least suspect it—to sneak in a braille joke. Mr. Beck is Fox News' Carrot Top, armed with blackboards and a love of the word "Nazi" instead of helmets, toys and barbells.

Sadly, this is also typical stand up comedy in the sense that the jokes are made at the expense of something all too real. The 50-50 chance that Beck could lose his eyesight in the next year is classic comedy fodder in the sense that the comedian has somehow managed to make light of his own pain. He has taken something that will end the way he has known and defined both life and himself for years and made it into something we can all laugh with him about. Good luck, Mr. Beck.
